Welcome To The TaoWoods Center
What is Taoism?
Taoism is an Eastern religious philosophy most commonly associated with China. It is also popular in many other parts of the world. The main principles of Taoism are understanding the world we live in, and learning to live in harmony with our world. Basic values include acceptance, moderation and simplicity. The basic books outlining this philosophy are the "Tao Te Ching" by Lao Tzu, "The Inner Chapters" by Chuang Tzu and "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu. In Taoism, emphasis is placed on the journey through life, not the final destination. There is no "The ends justify the means" attitude as each action and thought is seen as creating the next stage of the journey. And, whether you are aware of it or not, you are already on the path to this understanding.
What is the TaoWoods Center?
We are a non-profit spiritual organization located in Boscobel, Wisconsin. Through our facility and staff, we promote the principles of Taoism for the benefit of our members and the public. Our most popular service is our Taoist Daily Quote group on Mewe.com where we post a new quote each day for inspiration and reflection. Members of the group can and do post interesting comments that in themselves are thought-provoking.
